Heritage Festival

Spend the day at the Overland Trail Museum for the annual 4th of July Heritage Festival. Free admission! There are activities for every age from 10 am-3 pm on Wednesday, July 4. Come for the opening flag ceremony at 10 am presented by the Sons of the American Revolution. Don’t miss the heritage crafters, gold panning, Blacksmith Sam and butter making. Free Concert

Stay for the 4th of July Fireworks Jam free concert in the Home Depot lot starting at 5:30 pm. Bring a lawn chair or your dancing shoes and enjoy “Project Foreigner” and “In The Groove.” Free bounce house and other fun activities.

At dusk, sit back and enjoy the annual City of Sterling fireworks display from Pioneer Park. Don’t forget to bring your oohs and aahs!

 

Tri on the Plains

Logan County’s municipalities are filled with the ghosts of times past – if only by the structures left behind by those who inhabited our area in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Continuing our historical tour in and around downtown Sterling, we have the opportunity to learn about some of the grand old buildings that line the streets. If you let your mind wander to think about what it must have been like in those early days, you might just spark your imagination to relive those “good ol’ days” filled with stage coach stations, gunfights, cattlemen and sugar beets.
