What to See

The art and culture center for northeast Colorado, Sterling is known for its tree sculptures by renowned artist Bradford Rhea, creator of America’s gift to Pope John Paul II during his historic 1993 visit to the United States. Sterling also boasts the region’s largest display of bronze artwork in northeastern Colorado. With many talented artists and a commitment to community art, Logan County is colored by numerous murals in both Sterling and Merino and new metal art creations are popping up in several parks and other public places.

Sterling has a rich past to explore in the historic downtown are, as well as at the Overland Trail Museum, which records the greatest migration of people our country has ever experienced.
